The Charles Edward leaves Westport for Nelson today. The arrived from Blenheim early this morning, ahd returns there at 10 o'clock on Sunday morning. Tho Kennedy arrived, at Hokitika this morning, and leaves there for Greymouth this evening. * The Murray left Wanganui for Nelson this morning, will arrive here to-night, and sail for West Coast ports at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Tho Dart sailed this morning for Para Para with a cargo of machinery. . The Wellington, with the San Francisco mail, arrived at Wellington at 9 a.m. to-day. The Grafton leaves Wellington at 630 ' p.m. to-day, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for West Coast ports the same day at 2 p.m. '. The Albion arrived off Hokitika last night, and will probably leave there for Nelson this evening. She is announced to sail for Melbourne via West Coast ports and Newcastle on Monday afternoon. The barque Chaudiere is now over 90 days out from London, and therefore may be looked for about the middle of tho month. Captain Scott, who was in her last voyage, is still in command of the Chaudiere. The Wanaka left Port Chalmers at 3 p.m. on Monday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 11 a.m. ou Tuesday; sailed at 630 p.m. same day, and reached Wellington at 2 p.m. on Wednesday; left at noon yesterday, and made fast to Picton wharf at 615 p.m; sailed at 9 p.m., and arrived here at 6 o'clock this morning. Experienced strong southerly winds with heavy, sea while crossing the Straits. The Wanaka Bailed' for Picton, Wellington, Taranaki, and Manukau this afternoon. The Auckland Steamship Company have applied to the New Zealand Government to grant them a subsidy of £2500 for a monthly steam service between this colony and Fiji. The steamer Norfolk, 2027 tons, commanded by Captain O'Callaghan, is expected to arrive at Port Lyttelton about the 15th of the present month. She left Plymouth on the 20th April, having on board about 40 saloon, 100 second-class, ahd 145 steerage passengers. She is being brought to this colony at the instance of the New Zealand Shipping Company, and should her voyage prove as successful as it is anticipated, she will bo followed by other liners. After discharging cargo at Lyttelton she will immediately proceed to Wellington, and afterwards leave for Sydney direct.
