Sir — I am very glad that some one ha 3 taken up the matter re the Collingwood-street Bridge. I quite agree with all that is in " Portia's" letter. I know that one resident in the vicinity of the bridge subscribed illOO and another £50, and I believe the firm of Hooper and Dodson were asked to give something towards it, but refused, and I think, to say the least, that it was very shabby for any Councillor to be against replacing that which was in part built by subscription, especially as the Corporation's gravel carts helped to wear it out far more than anything else. — I am, &c., Jessica..
