JOHN STANLEY, J.P., 3533—26 Tadmor Lodge NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALTPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT TTNPER the Distinguished Patronage ol U his Mfljeety tie King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from tbe Consul-General (or Italy, 8t Melbourne, upon instruction* from the Minister for Foreign Affaire, dated 1 4th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil round in the trade instead of our Eucal\ ptus Extract. So far as tbe committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as tbe qualities of both of the products are in many ciscs directly opposed to one another, we consider it our dnty to direct the public attention to tbe following facts •.— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be oi value as a medicament in cages of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the slin. Any blistering brought ( n by the applica- ! tion of a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprain f, etc.. the curative power of our extract on the rained dieeises being unquestionably proved by former publications in- this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased ■ Tbe truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact tbat the oil is a resinous product equivalent to coma on turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, Eoo'hing and healing in its effVctß, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, tbe genuine article is only made up in half -ounce and one-ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
