HABITUAL DRUNKARDS.
To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail. Sib— The Legislative Council have thrown out the Bill for the control and cure of habitual drunkards, and in reading the debate one is astonished to find the AttorneyGeneral, Colonel Whitmore.Mr Waterhouse, Dr Pollen, Dr Menzies, and others all referring to legislation in England upon this subject at something not yet accomplished. In fact the Bill passed both Houses, and may now be found amongst the Statutes. Its title ia «« The Habitual Drunkards Act," 42 and 43 Vie. c 19.— 1 am, &c, L.
