The Pelorua sailed for Havelock on Saturday afternoon. She returns here about Thursday. The Hinemoa sailed for Wellington on Saturday night, and arrived there yesterday morning. The Maori sailed for Lyttelton and Dunedia at 7.15 p.m. on Saturday. The topsail schooner Spray, bound from Greymouth to Wellington, put into Astrolabe on Friday night through stress of weather. ; The Awaroa sailed for Wanganui at high water this afternoon. The Kennedy arrived in port yesterday morning, and was at once placed on the cradle, where she will have a thorough overhaul before resuming her running. The Lyttelton left for Wanganui at noon yesterday. She is expected back to-morrow evening, aod leaves for Blenheim on Wednesday. The Wallace is making a good run round the West Coast, having delivered the English mail at Westport on Saturday morning, at Greymouth on Saturday night, and Hokitika on Sunday morning. She left Hokitika on the return trip this morning. The Taiaroa leave3 Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and Bail for Ficton and Wellington by the same tide at noon. No lesa than seven sailing vessels were lying at the Tata Islands windbound on Saturday. They comprised a brigantine, supposed to be the Amberst, schooners Croydon Lass, Clio, Spec, Arthur Wakefleld, ketch Standard, and a fore-and-aft schooner : painted black. Some smart work was done at the Commercial Wharf in connection with ballasting the Arrogante, 100 tons of ballast being put into, that vessel ,in the short space of five hours. . The Wanganui left Greymouth at midnight on Friday, and arrived at Westport at 11 o'clock on Saturday ( . morning . sailed at 11 " p.m., and arrived here at 8 p.m. yesterday. She sails for Wellington and South at 8 o'clock to-night. .; The Murray arrived ia harbor at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, She left Nelson at 8.15 on Monday, and arrived at Westport at 6 > J p.m, on Tuesday- sailed at 10p.m. for Hokitika arriving there at 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday; 1 discharged a large cargo, and took in the Kennedy's cargo, sailing for Greymouth at 8.30 a-nty on Thursday; arrived there at 1 1 .30 . a,m., atfdaf ter coaling, sailed for Westport ; at 10.15 a.m on Friday, arriving there at 8 p.m.-, left at 10.30 p.m and arrived as above. Experienced strong southerly and easterly . winds on the passage up with heavy sea off the.SpU. The Murray sails for West Coast ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow. r The French barque Arrogante was towed . to sea By the Lady Barkly on Saturday night, and set sail for Newcastle. Favored by a fine land breeze she made good progress daring the night, and at daylight yesterday was out of sight. While in harbor the Arrogante attracted much attention partly from the fact of her crew being foreign, and the vessel was inspected by a large number of visitors. Johnny . Craupaud was very^much pleased to see so much attention paid to his vessel, and with" the politeness $F l ) v !? ch . Frenchmen are , noted . greeted visitors with " Bon jour^ Monsieur ; ; parlezvoua Franoais." M. Ie Captaine and his , crew were very much taken up with Nelson of which they carry favorable impressions with them, They are very desirous of visiting this place again. We wish them ban voyage.
