Temporary Offices : Ilotd's Rooms, Bramdon-stbket, Wellington. Thia Company is formed for two objects :— Ist and chhfly. For lending money ac current rates of intere t upon the security of landed property situated within the Colony of New Zealand ; and 2nd. For acquiring, when deemeJ advisable, landed* pr»p= rty situated in or near to cities or towns, or centres of population, in the Colony of New Zealand, and thereafter selling it again in whole or in lots as may suit purchasers. With a fast increasing population both in town and country, a very One climate, and land of great fertility, opened up by the construction of roads an 1 railways, there is an almost inexhaustible field far the profitable investment of money in the manner proposed by this Company, and it is one very little occupied. This Company intends to occupy that field, ard to offer to the pnblic— particularly to farmer-settlers and the working population generally— facilities for acquiring property or for erecting bouses, or effecting ether substantial improvements thereon on reasonably moderate terms. And the Company can do so profitably to the Shareholders, while at the same time help is given to people who are willing to pay adequately for the advantages and accommodation offered. In no case will, morey be lent otherwise than on the security of landed property, a Bafe margin being always kept, The system which prevails all over the Colony in the buying of land, is that of de ferred payment of the price,— so much being psid as a deposit when the purchase is made, and the remainder by bills for instalments, spread over a limited period of from one to three years, the title being only granted when the price is fuliy paid up. This Company, in consequence of being in a position io pay in cash at once, will certainly be able to buy property on much more favorable terms than buyers on deferred payments ; and it is certain that by the exercise of ordinary care, a fafe and very profitable kind of business can be done by buying land and selliog it again in lota to tult purchasers. It is very well known that Companies in New Zealand having objects similar to those of this Company have been able, notwithstanding very limited resources, net only to pay large dividends but aleo to add to capita!, It is not intended to call up more than £1 per share, at the outset at least. The Pro- ' moters consider that, with 10* per Share paid ; up, the Company may make a fair beginning; and they confidently anticipate that, besides paying a good dividend to Shareholders, tbe Directors will also by judicious investments in landed property, be able from time to time, oat of profits, to make additions to CapitAl. The turn over of the Capital will he quirk, snd there wiil no doubt be available soon a Considerable amount of money from deposits made by people both at Home and in New Zealand, so that a large {aid-up Capital is not necessary. '■ Prospectuses, with Forms of Application for Shares, may be obtainel at the Offices of tha Company, or from tbe Bankers at tbe Office, or at any of the Branches; or from the Union Bank of Australia, Nelson ; and the Memorandum and Articles of Association may be seen in the baada of the Secretary. Should no Allotment be made,'" the Deposit will be returned without any dedaction. ; Lloyd'e Rooms, Brandon-street, Wellington, October, 1878. 3292
