Schooner Mad Cap, from Mauritius Schooner Kichtird and Mary, from Oamaru Barque Edwin Fox, from London, sailed 31st •July.
The Ringarooma leaves the Bluff to-niorrow for ITobarton and Melbourne. The cutter Wave, which was recently built at Frenchman's Bay, is expected here next week. The Hawea is undergoing an overhaul at Port Chalmers, and the Taranaki has been sent up the E:ist Coast in her pUce. The Alhambra leaves Melbourne for New .Zealand ports to-day, She comes by way of the West Coast. The schooner Mad Cap should put in an appearance here next week, being now 36 days out from Port Louis. The Maori is expected here from the West Coa3t on Saturday, and is announced to sail for Lyttelton and Dunedin at 10 am. the same day. The Ladybird left Taranaki at 8 a.m. today. She will arrive here late this evening and sail for Wellington and Lyttelton at 11 a.m. to-morrow. The WelliDgton left Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and return to Picton and Wellington at 11 a.m. on Saturday. A capital opportunity of visit'mg Canterbury during the race week is afforded by the Wellington, which leaves on Saturday morning for Wellington, where she will connect with toe Taupo, which steamer niakes an excursion trip from Wellington leaving there for Lyttelton on Monday. H.M.S. Cormorant, which left Plymouth in August for Australia to relieve the Sapphire sprung a leak before she got clear of the Channel, and put back. The Emerald was sent on in her place. The Edwin Fox, now over eighty days out from London, should show up next week. The Mataura, which left a week before her, has arrived at Port Chalmers, after a passage of 88 days, under command of our old fnend Captain Brown. As the former is not such a fast sailer as the latter she cannot he expected to make such a quick : passage out, but if she has met with anything like favorable weather the latter end of next, week ought to see her in port
