The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Day last evening. The Murray is not yet reported as having arrived at Y/aitara. The Charles Edward will arrive here from Westport to-morrow night. The Wallace arrived at Blenheim this morning, and will sail for Nelson to-morrow morning. The Kennedy arrived at "Wellington this morning, and will leave on the return trip to-morrow evening. There is no cargo offering at Waitapu for the Pelican, and Captain Muuro has cleared out for Haveloek, for which port he will sail to-morrow morning. The Chaudiere, which has been delayed at Wellington in consequence of not being able to obtain a crew, will sail for London tomorrow. The Wauaka sailed for Wellingon and South last evening, and arrived at the former port, early this morning. "We cannot glean any information regarding the movements of the Maori, but up to yesterday afternoon she had not arrived on the West Coast. The Kentish Tar did not make a bad passage to Napier after all, a telegram having been received here to-day from Captain Pottingcr announcing his arrival there last night. The Albambra, according to our advices received 'a*t night, was to leave Kokitika for Nelson via intermediate ports this morning, but up to the time of our going to press her departure had not been telegraphed. She is advertised to sail for Wellington, South, and Melbourne, to morrosv. The Awaroa was towed to sea by the Lady Barkiy last evening. Favored by a fine S.W. wind she must have made good progress during the night, and should reach Wanganui to-night. At Adelaide, Captain Ramsay, of the Craigendarroch, has been fiued £100, and the Btewurd £25, for smuggling whisky from the vessel. The cases against the receivers has not yet been gone iuto. Another attempt was made on Wednesday last to float the Ann Gambles, but when the vessel was just about lifting off the ground the pump choked and allowed the water to get the better of it. The Wellington arrived in harbor this morning at 9 o'clock. Shs left Wellington at 1.20 p.m. yesterday, and reached Pieton at 6.30 p.m.; sailed at 10 p.m.. and arrived here as above, having called at Durville'a Island on the way. Passed the Wanaka at the mouth of the Sound. The Wellington has a new chief officer this trip, her late one, Mr Pitzer, having been appointed chief officer of the llotorua, which steamer he will join to-morrow. At 930 a.m. to-morrow the Wellington will return to Picton and Wellington. Captain M'Lareu, of the "Woodbine, reports that when about twenty miles from Newcastle he saw a boat painted black with white top sides. He at once bore down on her, and secured her by means of a grapnel, but as there was a fresh breeze blowing and a heavy sea running it was found impossible to get her on board the barque, and Capt. M'Laren very reluctantly iet go of her. Inside the boat were a mast, two oars, and a sprit. The captain is of opinion that she was a fisherman's boat, and had been blown away from the land. The Union" Company's s.s. Hawea, Captain Kennedy, arrived in harbor this morniug at 10.30. She left Port Chalmers at 4.30 p.m on Tuesday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 9.35 a.m. on the following day: sailed at 5.30 p.m., and reached Wellington at 9.30 a.m. yesterday; left at midnight, lauded two passengers at Durville's Island, and waited until they came on board again, afterwards coming on to Nelson, and arriving here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage. The Hawea sails for Taranaki and Mauukau with the outward San Francisco mail at 9 p.m.
