CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail.' Sie,— ls it not strange that beyond inserting the telegram of the death of Bishop Selv/yn (Bishop of Lichfield) the Nelson press has not given au obituary notice, nor even alluded to it in any way whatever. Many of those attending Christ Church expected to see it draped in black last Sunday as a small mark of respect to the deceased prelate, who for so many years was at the head of the Church of England in New Zealand, and that mention would have been made of the great loss the Church had sustained from the pulpit ; but no, the Incumbent was as silent as the press. Is it too late to remedy what I cannot help thinking is an oversight on the part of those to whom I refer ? Yours, &c, CUUBCHMAN. Nelson, April 17,1878.
