IVTOTICE is hereby given that at a jyi Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Nelson, held on the 28th day of February, 1878, the following resolution was adopted : — That the following WATER RATES, in respect of the ordinary supply be mnde and levi< d for the period commencing on the lat day of April, 187* 3 , and ending on the 31st day of March, 1879, pijabls in two equa 1 instalments on the Ist day of April. 1878, and the Ist day of October, 1878 : — 1. Upon all lands and buildings to which wator is supplied, whose rateable value on the Valuation Ro'l Does not exceed £12 10s , a rate of 10s. per annum. Exceeds £12 10s., but does not exceed £200, a rate of 6 per cent on such value. Exceeds £200 but does not exoeed £cOO, ft rate of 5 per cent on such value. Exceeds £300, a rate of 4 per cent, on such value 2 Upon all lands and buildings to which vater can he, but is not supplied, situate within 100 jards from any part ol the waterworks— One-hail o* the rates abovementioned except as follows : — Upon all such last-mentioned lands as ha>e no buihlings standing thereon, a rate ot a par cent, on the rateable value.
