[Redter's Telegrams t-ek Pkess Agency.] Loxdon, March 6. The Turkish indemnityhaving been fixed at 1410 million roubles, certain territory in Armenia is to be taken a3 representing 1100 millions, and the balance is to be paid in money. March 8. Lord Derby, in replying to a question, confirmed the announcement that a European conference will be held in Berlin, for the holding of which Austria opened negotiations on the basis proposed by England. He added I hat the British Government had asked that the whole treaty of peace between Russia and Turkey might be submitted to the Congress. In the course of a long debate in the House of Lords, Lord Derby said that although the treaties of 1856 and 1871 had now virtually ceased to exist, they must be held as binding until Europe had sanctioned a substitute. He hoped the Conference would effect a European, and not a Russiau, settlement of the Eastern question, as the latter would involve difficulties, the issue of which was uncertain. Since the opening of the wool sales 65,100 bales have been offered. The bidding was strong throughout. Inferior qualities slightly iv favor of buyers.
