"X." AND "Y."
To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail.' Sir— Your correspondent "Y." has ingeniously—some may think appropriately — invoked witches aud heathen gods to aid him in his defence of the Bright theories, completely ignoring the fact that the very large majority of those whom Sir Hercules Robinson was urging to staud fast to the faith learned by them at their mothers' knees were Christian lads, born of Christian parents, and brought up in a Christian land. However, I have no intention of discussing this matter. My object in the first instance was merely to call special attention to the words made use of by the Governor of New South Wales, feeling sure that the advice they contained would commend itself to the hearts of the large majority of those who read them with far greater force than the doctrines enunciated with a ruuning accompaniment of sneers by Mr Charles Bright.— l am, &c , X.
