ENGLAND PREPARING FOR WAR,
London, Dec- 18. It is supposed that Osman Pasha conniitted suicide because the Porte blamed him for the fall of Plevna.
_ The calling together of the English Parliament for Jauuary being unusual, is construed to indicate an intention on the part of the Government to take decisive action against Russia.
The Chamber of Deputies afe Stainboul have elected a Christian as President. A meeting was held afc Pesth, eight thousand persons being present, for the purpose of urging immediate action on the part of Austria against Russia. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Austrian Ministers, who refused to receive the deputation, and a riot ensued.
December 19.
A meeting of Parliament has been convoked at an ealier period than usual for war preparations.
The Government have ordered vessels refitting to immediately get to sea. General Gourko has advanced on Sophia. The Servians have captured Mirrunan. Six thousand Turks are advancing to succour Scutari and Antiriri on the Adriatic.
