August 31, cutter Dauntless, 12, Ricketts, for Torrent Bay. — cutter Dart, 16, Fraser, for Havelock. — cutter Maid of Italy, 17, Clarke, for Riwaka. — steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Motueka.

The Wallace is still detained at Greymouth, where the bar continues in an impassable condition, and is likely to remain so for some time. Indeed, so small are the chances of entering or 'leaving the river that the Luua, which is now at Westport, is discharging her Greymouth cargo, and will return to Wellington. For the same reason the Murray is still lying afc Westport. The Kennedy arrived from Wellington last night, having called afc The Brothers, where ' she landed Dr. Bradford, who had beeu despatched thither by the Government, an accident having happened to one of the men at work at the lighthouse. The Kennedy will leave to-morrow morniug for Westport, where she will tranship her G-reymoutb. cargo into' the Murray, and at once return to Nelson, arriving here on Tuesday, and sailing for Wellington the same day. Owing to the south-easterly gale thafc is blowing in the Straits, the departure of the Lyttelton for Blenheim is postponed until 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Ringarooma arrived at Wellington at 10 o'clock last night, after a passage of 8. hours from wharf to wharf. The cutter Goldseeker arrived from Havelock this morning with a general cargo. The cutter Maid of Italy sailed for Riwaka lasteveniug > The schooner Sisters arrived from Motupipi this morning with a mixed, cargo. The cutter Dart has sailed for Havelock. The schooner Australian Maid arrived from Awaroa last evening with a load of firewood for her owner. The Prospect arrived from the Sandspit last evening with about teu tons of cargo. The ketch Pearl arrived from West Wanganui this morning with a load of coal. The schooner May returned to port last; evening. She is from the Sandspit, and brings a quautity of cargo. The schooner Arthur Wakefield arrived from Lyttelton this morning, after a fair passage, having left thafc port on Monday last. She brings a cargo of produce. A brigantine has beeu signalled all the day. it is probably the Esther from Lyttelton, which port she left on Tuesday last. The Esther ran past the Arthur AVakefield in the Straits yesterday with a good breeze behind her, but in the night the fore-and-aft schooner managed to crawl away from her. The steamer Waipara returned to port last evening afc 10 o'clock from the scene of the wreck. While she has been away the Waipara has made good use of her time, diving operations being successfully carried on every day. Yesterday afternoon a strong wind set in from the N.E., which soon raised a nasty roll of a sea. As there is nothing to make fast to at the wreck, and the holding ground being bad, there was no prospect of doing any work with safety, and the sfc.a uer consequently came on to Nelson. A portion of the port bow of the vessel is still above water, with the anchor and gear depending from it. The remainder of the ship is entirely submerged. The Waipara will sail for the Sandspit to-morrow night.
