April 20, cutter Bruiser, 10, Westrupp, for Frenchman's Bay. — cutter Maid of Italy, 17, Clarke, for Riwaka. — cutter Planet, 15, Thorne, for Motueka. — cutter Euphemia, 6, Holyoake, for Riwaka. — ketch Standard, 10, Fletcher, for Moutere. 21, steamer Wallace, 64, Dillon, for Karamea. — sleamerLady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Motueka.
The Taranaki left New Plymouth at 2 o'clock this afternoon. She will arrive early to-morrow morning, and is advertised to sail for the South afc noon. The Wallace sailed for Karamea this afternoon with a quantity of stock and sfcores. The Lyttelton arrived at Blenheim to-day, and will sail for Wellington to-night. The Kennedy arrived at the Grey this afternoon. The Taupo will leave Onehunga to-mor-row, arriving here early on Tuesday morning. She will sail for the South the same day. The Lady Barkly returned from Golden Bay last night, and made a trip to Motueka and back to-day. The ketch Pearl arrived from Waitapu last evening with, a cargo of timber." The Prospect is on the hard for the purpose of being cleaned and tarred. The cutters Maid of Italy, Euphemia, and Planet • sailed last evening, the two former for Riwaka, and the latter for Motueka. The schooner Sisters arrived this morning from Motupipi with a miscellaneous cargo. She reports sighting a schooner off Waitapu, supposed to be the Waihopai. The, cutter Dauntless arrived from Tata Islands this morning with a load of stone. The Albion was due at Hokitika this morning, but up to the time of our going to press her arrival had not been posted up on the telegraph board. The_ Margaret Galbraith, part of whose cargo is for this port, to which she will come after discharging at Lyttelton, arrived afc the latter place last night, after a fiue passage of 87 days. . The Charles Edward arrived alongside the Albion "Wharf at 10*45 this morning. She reports leaving Nelson on the 13th iustant at noon, and experienced fine weather all round the West Coast ports. The Charles Edward brings ,a cargo of coal from the Coal Pit Heath Company. She sails for West Coast ports,-, conveying the inward San Francisco mail, at 8 a.m. to-morrow. The . paddle-steamer Result is expected shortly from Westport for the purpose of receiving a rew boiler and engines, which are being constructed at the Soho Foundry. Her stay here will be very brie £ , as we understand that Messrs Moutray and Crosbie have only fourteen working days to do the whole of the work in. The s.s. Murray arrived in harbor at 7 p.m. yesterday. She left Nelson on Monday last afc 12*30 p.m., with wind blowing hard from S.W.;- passed the s.s. Waipara, which left Nelson the day before, at anchor under the Spit, she not earing to face fche sou'-wester then blowing and heavy sea running; arrived at Westport afc I*4o p.m. on Tuesday, and left at midnight for Greymouth, arriving off the bar at 10*30 a.m., and crossing it afc 11*30; discharged cargo and stock, took in a full cargo of coal, coke, &c, and left for Nelson direct on Thursday at 2 p.m., arriving here as above. Experienced light easterly winds and smooth sea on the passage up. Passed the Kennedy off Rock's Point bound South, also several sailing craft, none of which had any lights. The Murray sails for Wellington o-night.
