TThe Customs receipts for the week ending . to-day were £1879 lis 7d. The All England Eleven will leave for Greymouth by the Charles Edward'.to-mor- . row. ' The Hart and Searell- Company gave an excellent entertainment last, night when their acting and singing, and the piano playing-.; of Mr Searell were deserving. of the highest praise. Owing to the steamer not starting for the West Coast until to-morrow they will give one more performance tonight. 1

THE_Rev A. J. Hamilton, Baptist minister from Englaud; will preach at the Richmond Baptist Church to-morrow morning ' audi evening. The annual general meeting of the mem- ■ bers of the Caledonian Society will be held on Monday evening next at the Trafalgar Hotel. ' • •'.. The anniversary sermons in connection with the Weslyean Sabbath School will be preached in the Hardy-street Church tomorrow, in the morning by the Rev D. Dolamore, and in the evening by the Rev G. S. Harper. There will also be a children's service at 230 p.m., when all parents and friends are invited to attend. On Wednesday the usual tea and public meeting will be held. There was an animated scene at the Railway Station this afternoon, when at half -past one the children attending the Church of England Sunday Schools in town, and at Clifton, Suburban North, to the number of several hundreds, started in a long train consisting of eighteen carriages and trucks for Wakefield, stopping at Stoke, where they will pick up the Sunday scholars in that locality. After a picnic in the bush kt Wakefield, and tea at Mr Drager's, they will return to town this evening. Mr. Shall. rass, who has returned from Motueka, reports that he found the sufferers by, the late flood very numerous, although none were in actual want, owing to the generous provision made for them by those of their neighbors who had been more fortunate than themselves. There are not many who had escaped without some loss, and some few are completely ruined, the labor of the last twenty years having been entirely swept away, and in some instances the land at well, or, if not washed away, so covered with debris us -to be rendered useless. The Cassidy family, who lived up the river, have iaot yet been brought down to Motueka; they (will-require some immediate assistance. Mr jShallcrass does not recommend the; removal of any to the depot, as it would' sever them - irom their old associations and friends, and place then^ in a position in which they would be.qnable to help themselves. The following services have been arranged for to-morrow :— Christ Church : Mornipg Prayer at 8 o'clock. At 1 1 o'clock the edn-_ secration of the Reverend John Richardson Selwyn, Bishop elect of Melanesia, in which all the Bishops will take part, will take place. The Man Who Laughs is the fortunate individual who sleeps soundly, for whom " good digestion waits onappetite," and whose nerves never trouble him. Happy he or she who is thus trebly blessed. When refreshing slumbers fail to visit your pillow, when your food tortures instead of benefiting you, when a sudden noise or excitement sets your nerves, in a tremor, it is high time that you resorted to a. remedy. You will certainly find it in Udolpho Wolfe's Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps.— Advt.
