His Excellency the Governor and party embarked on board the Luna at the Wakapuaka Bluff yesterday afternoon, after an excellent afternoon's shooting on Mr Collins property. "Want of space compels us to hold over the report of last night's meeting of the Regatta Committee until tomorrow. A meeting of the Howard Lodge of Odd-Fellows is called for this evening. The Simonsen Opera Company will make their first appearance in Nelson on Tuesday next, when an opportunity will be afforded of listening to such music as is seldom heard iv Nelson. Season tickets may be obtained from 3lr Stanton. We remind our readers of the ploughing match to be held at Richmond to-morrow, and of the special train which leaves Nelson at one o'clock. The entries tbis year are said to be more than usually numerous in all the classes. We understand that the tickets for to-morrow night's entertainment are being rapidly disposed of, and that there is every probability of the efforts of those who are to perform being rewarded by a crowded house. In addition to the other attractions we may mention that there will be an excellent little orchestra, which will include a youthful violinist, whose execution on that instrument is reported to be of rare excellence. Residents in the country will have an opportunity of attending what promises to be a moßt amusing entertainment by a special train, which leaves Foxhill at six o'clock.
