Mr .Kenyoh attended and -claimed the fulfilment by the Board of their engagement that he should have oertain work for which he tendered some years ago. The » consideration was deferred till next meeting Mr Kenyon complained of a ditch out by the Board through his •' prbperty, which he stated caused mudh injury. It appeared that this ditch bad been out with the oonsent ot the former , owner. It was considered that Mr Kenyon had no claim against the Board. - A letter from Mr Parkinson, in reference to certain work in Dovedale, having been handed in, and found to be very btfehsively worded, it was resolved that no reply should be sent, a verbal answer being given to the messenger * that; the -money allotted to that work had already been expended. A letter was read from Mr Jenkins stating that he considered his land to have been greatly over-assessed, as in consequence of its .'.hilly, nature, it was only adapted 7 for sheep, thus restricting him to returns from one source only, and requesting tha Board to instruct their assessor to confer with him before filling up the pext assessment." Resolved, That in the Board's opin- . ion Mr Jenkins* property has been very fairly considered : relative to other properties, and therefore they see no necessity for their assessor having a special conference, with Mr Jenkins. Mr Hunt applied to know whether the Board would sell the old road through the, Wai-iti Bush. This the Board declined to do. Mr Hi'ldreth attended, aod wished to set off: against his road rate some work which; he, alleged to have done on the i*oad f leading to bis farm. It appearing that this road is of use only to Mr Hildreth, it was suggested that he should make an offer to give or sell a road through his property so as to connect the public roads, and render them available to the public, when the Board would be- in a position to subsidise. Mr Hildrelh's or other's contributions, io the meantime Mr Hildreth to pay: his rate as demanded. Warrants were signed for £224 16s lOd.
