CRICKET.
The match between the Nelson and Motueka Clubs was played yesterday at Motueka, the town men going over in the Lady Barkly which started ut seven a.m. The game was a capital one, and towards its close became most exciting, the Motueka men having to make 14 to win at six o'clock with four wickets to go down. However the bowling proved too good for them, and they were disposed of for eight runs, thus leaving the Nelson men the winners by the small majority of five. The day was a most pleasant one, and the town men speak in high terms of the hospitality and courtesy displayed towards them. The following are the scores : — NELSON, lst Innings. 2nd Innings.
