RITUALISM.
Of late there's been a mighty stir Of people in the churches, sir, About the surplice fashion; And many bitter words and rude, Have been expended on the feud, And much unhQly passion. For me, I neither know nor care Whether a parson ought to wear A green, or black, or white dress; Filled with a trouble of mine own — A wife, who preaches in her gown, And lectures in her-night dress. Poor Dick.
' Time works wonders,' as the lady said when she got married after a twenty years' courtship. A Jersey man was lately arrested for flogging a woman, and excused the act by saying he was near-sighted, and thought it was his wife !
