HIGH SCHOOL ROAD RACE

The annual road race of the Palmerston North Boys’ High School was held yesterday over the usual course of between two and three miles of road country. The event- was won by G. Seator, who secured fastest time. He was narrowly beaten for a place last year. Seator obtained the lead about half a-mile from the start and was not headed, eventually making his own pace to win by over 100 yards. His time was 12min. 14 2-sscc., only 2 2-ssee. above the record held hv I. Hearsey. liad Seator met with opposition over the concluding stages he would probably have broken the record. Tho result was: G. Senior 1, I Linklater 2, K Campbell .5, J. Mitchell 4; R. Wood 5. Tho club contest, in which points are allocated for the first 50. to finish, was won by Phoenix, with the Albion runners-up.
