HARRIERS’ PACK RUN.

On Saturday the Feilding Harrier Club conducted a pack run around the Makino block —a distance of approximately five miles. Weather conditions were favourable and a field of ton runners took part. As the home turn was reached at Pharazyn Street B. Batten and G. Whittaker assumed control, closely followed by Haycock, Lamberton and Moss. Lamberton ran up to the leaders and accompanied them until 'about ten yards from home, when he took the lead and went on to win by a narrow margin from Batten and Whitataker. Moss out for the first time this season was fourth. R. Evans and Strawbridge .retired early in the race. The winner’s time was 31min 30sec; Batten took 33min 33see and Whittaker 33min 33 3-5 sec. Lamberton conceded eight minutes to the first pack and his win was a meritorious one.
