HARRIER RALLY.
A GRADE WON BY Y.M.C.A. Members of the Palmerston North Y.M.C.A. Harrier Club travelled to Danncvirkc to participate in the annual harrier rally on Saturday. Clubs from Napier, Hastings, Wanganui and Danncvirke participated. The following are the results: — A grade.—G. Bills (Wanganui), 37.23. 1; T. Taylor (Hastings), 37.27, 2; D. MeCardie (Palmerston North), 38rnin. 3; K. Galloway (Palmerston North), 38.4, 4; C. Cox ’ (Wanganui), 38.37, 5; 11. Hopper (Wanganui), 39.49, 6. L. Hawthorne, 39.23. finished eighth, and J. Spall eleventh. Palmerston North defeated Wanganui by 26 points to 29 in the team races. There were 24 starters in t hid grade. B grade.—F. Kiddle (Wanganui), 39.38, 1:' T. McKenna (Danncvirke), 40.6, 2: C. Harper (Wanganui), 40.22. 3; Francis (Wanganui),, 40.45, 4; W. Carr (Wanganui), 40.50, 5; C. McVicar (Palmerston North), 40.56. 6. S. McVicar I7th. A. Cozens 23rd. K. Woodd 25th, completed the Palmerston North'team. There were about 45 runners in this grade and Wanganui won the teams’ race (easily. x With the exception of N. Hearse}’, who' has had little trailing, the A grade team performed excellently. D. McCardle. still a junior, maintains has form remarkably well, while 1 K. Galloway is running bettor than ever.' Hawthorne and Spall proved good team men. C. McVicar was easily tho best of the B team. J. Scott and 'A. Cozens ran well for one lap. but could not last the distance. Of the others, S. McVicar ran well after a rather slow start. W- Meder ran a good race to finish second in the junior one lap race.
