RANGIOTU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)' RANGIOTU, May 31. Miss R. AVilton, of Mangawhata Road, whose marriage takes place next week, was the guest of honour at a gift afternoon given by the' residents of Rangiotu in the hall. Miss AA'ilton wore a green coat over her summer frock, and Mrs AVilton wore a black coat and hat. Mr R. E. Dixon, on' behalf of those present, asked Miss Wilton to accept numerous presents with file good wishes of all. Mrs E. L. Russell, president of the AVomen’s Institute, presented Miss Wilton with a crystal vase, and Mrs J. Andrew, secretary of the P.AV.M.U., presented 'a beautiful ’reading lamp and spoke of the good work Miss AVilton had 1 rendered the Missionary Union. Mr 11. Wilton, on behalf of his daughter, thanked all those present. Musical items were contributed by Mesdames Stnnbra, of Bainessc, and Cook, of Pyko's Road. Winners of various competitions were Mesdames Pearson and J. Dixon and Misses M. Simmons and T. Pedersen. Miss King, postmistress, of Rangiotu. is at present on holidays. Mr J. Gawick, formerly of Christchurch, is acting as relieving postmaster. Mrs R. Pedersen, of AVellington, is the guest'of Mrs Cooksley, of Mangawhatu Road.
