BIRTHDAY PARTY
To mark the occasion of the 21st birthday of • Miss Daisy Berkahn, daughter of Mr and. Mrs E. C. Berkahn, of Beattie Street, Feilding, some sixty guests gathered in the Oddfellows! Hall. Miss Berkahn wore a dainty frock of teal blue chiffon with diamante adornments. Mr S. Berkahn as M.C. kept the party entertained with games and dancing. _ A large birthday / cake in pink and white adorned the supper table, and Mr J. Cummings, an cld friend of the family. presented Miss Berkahn with a gold key and offered his congratulations on behalf of the gathering. The usual toasts were honoured and the function proved an enjoyable one in every way. Those present included: Mesdames G. Dick, senr. and junr., Cummings, G. Hurdle. AV. Carter, G. Packer, N. Hurdle, T. Stevens, L. Hopping, .M. J. Carter, W. Lourie, S. Berkahn, K. Greer, H. Hill, J. Staples, W. Stringer, Misses Jean Smith, B. Hurdle, D. Davies, S. Smith, M. Staples, 0. Sporle, P. Kerr, J. Dealing and J. Enwright. Mies Berkahn and Mr S. Staples were accorded the good wishes of the gathering on their engagement (announced in the “Alanawatu Standard” on Thursday).
