Viscount as Dominion Chief Scout, has approved of the award of the Silver Cross of the Bov Scout Association to David Stanley McLenaghan, aged 13, of the Somerfield Methodist Troop, Christchurch. Last January, at the risk of his life,.Scout McLonaghan saved Brian Spurr from drowning at Okain’s Bay. Banks Peninsula, and made two gallant but unsuccessful endeavours to rescue Desmond Spurr. In recommending McClenaghan for the Silver Cross, the officials of the Boy Scout Association expressed the opinioij that his action was fully in keening with the highest traditions of the movement.—Press Association.
