An anti-cyclone extends over New Zealand from the south and a depression is located over Tasmania.

The forecast is for light to moderate and variable winds with southerlies predominating at first. Some isolated showers can be expected east of the ranges, hut the weather otherwise will bo fair to fine with some frosts to-night, but temperatures milder tomorrow and moderate seas. RIVER GAUGE.
