SUGAR FOR DOMINION.

Received April 11, 8.5 a.m. CANBERRA, April 10. New Zealand’s requirements of raw sugar will be met from a British purchase of 500,000 tons from the 1940 Queensland crop. Announcing this to-day, the Alinister of Customs (Senator McCleay) said that the tentative allocations were : United Kingdom, 300.000 tons; Canada, 20,000 tons; New Zealand, 80,000 tons.
