MINISTER ON TOUR.
Per Press Association. THAMES, Jim. 21. The Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple), accompanied by Mr W. J. "Wood (Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department), Mr F. S. Dyson (Auckland district engineer; and Mr Hamilton Knight (a member of the New South Wales Parliament), arrived at Thames this morning, and were met by Mr S. Ensor (Mayor), Mr C. L. Orange (borough commissioner), Mr H. Lowe (county chairman), and Mr K. S. Hetherington (president of the Chamber of Commerce). The Minister later received a number of deputations. He was entertained at luncheon by local authorities. Mr Semple will inspect the Tairua-Kaueranga Road, and will leave to-morrow for Coromandel and the northern portion of the peninsula.
