FIRE AT TAUMARUNUI.
Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, April 23. Fire broke out at 8.30 lad; night in a large twenty-one-roorned boarding establishment, Harwood House, owned by Mrs Cheadle, of Auckland, and occupied by Mrs Gore The fire started in the sleeping portion at the rear and spread with lightning rapidity, tho rear portion, and sleepingl portion being gutted. In making her escape, Mrs Gore was singed about the hair by the flames. _ The insurance on tho building is not available, but the amount on the furniture is £450.
