NOTICE is hereby given that the Mannwatu County Council proposes to raise a Special Loan under ‘‘The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,”* and all other powers thereto enabling as follows: 1. The purpose of the Loan is (a) to provide the Council’s contribution under “The Main Highways Act, 1922,” and amendments thereto towards the construction or re-construc-tion of the main highways throughout the County of Manawatu and within No. 9 Highway District, as mentioned in the New Zealand Gazette dated 12th June, 1924, and (b) to provide the necessary plant and machinery for carrying out the said work of construction or re-construction of such main' highways aforesaid. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed is:—.

(a) For main highway construction or re-construction 52,500 (b) For plant and machinery necessary to carry out the said work of construction or re-construction 7,500 £OO,OOO 3. It is proposed that the term of the loan shall be for a period of not more than thirty-six and a half years and that the rate of interest to be paid on the loan shall not exceed £5 10s per centum per annum plus a sinking fund of one per centum per annum. As security ior the loan it is proposed to make a special rate of thirteen thirtyseconds of a penny in the' pound upon all the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in.the County of Manawatu. 4.
