TRIBUTE TO EX-MEMBERS.
OF A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. Referring to the death of several members of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, the annual report states: —The committee deeply deplores having to record the deaths during the year of no less than lour past presidents, namely Messrs A. E. Russell, b. RLancaster, Ernest Short, and S. A\. Luxford ; also an old committeeman and ardent worker at the W inter. Show, ill the person of Mr John Jarvis. Space does not permit of.the sotting out of the manifold services given by these late gentlemen, but it can be truthfully said that the resultant benefits that have accrued to the association from their self-sacrificing labours are inestimable. All of them were loyal, generous and hard working in the interests of the association which was so dear to them. All of them had set their hands early to the plough and none of them ever looked back until their lespectivo tasks were done. The association loses heavily and it is with great sorrow that the committee places the foregoing on record. The deepest sympathy has been conveyed to the relatives' of the deceased gentlemen and it is further proposed to perpetuate their memory in another suitable manner. By the deaths of Messrs ltussell and Lancaster the honorary life membership of the committee list is reduced to nine, these being the first two names to disappear from the roll.
