Mr Thoßi;psQn Mapelle, a Member of the House, continuing the naval debate, said that ho wa.s disinclined to believe tiihat the Empire was in any way endangered by Germany's aggression. Germany and Japan liad been flirting lately; therefore the real P-aoe for battleships was.the Pacific. He ridiculed the idea of placing a fleet in the Pacific as likely to lead to separation. If the Empire was ever destroyed it would be due to ultra-Imperialiste and jingoes. The tighter one drew the :ba,nds of Empire the more likely that they would hreak. v
