ATTEMPTED SUICIDE,
[press association,] WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. A man named John Buchanan attempted suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. He was taken to the hospital, whore he is recovering.
A DANGEROUS PLAYTHING
. WATHI, Feb. 6. A boy named Parker, aged 10 years was hammering yesterday at the W or a rocking-horse when suddenly ai explosion occurred. The child was struck on the temple, cheek, and forefinger, but the wounds are nofc Se"°, Ui 3- He says that he picked n. what he thought was a screw, and began hammering it. It is surmised that what the boy picked up \ra« a dynamite cap.
