Bradshaw, Queenstown. E. T. Pain, Arrow Ton 11. This Company is formed for the purpose of working in an efficient manner, a Quartz Reef recently discovered in the Arrow district. The Reef is situated 011 the south bauk of the Arrow River, about half a mile from the Arrow Camp, and is easily approachable by dray traffic. Water power can at once be made available for working a battery of stampers; thus avoiding the enormous expense of procuring and working steam machinery. The Report of Mr Mining Surveyor Wright is most favorable as to the quality and quantity of the stone. After detailing "ceriain experiments, he concludes as follows: —"This trial stows a rate of nearly nine ounces to the ton; and had the quartz been reduced sufficiently tine to enable me to extract all the gold, I make no doubt that it would have j ielded at the rate of twelve ounces to the ton. I regret that I could not make a trial upon a larger scale, but as all the quartz raised appeared equal in quality to that which I took, I consider it may be taken as a criterion of the value of the reef." Mr Hacket, the Assistant Government Geologist of Otago, and other scientific gentlemen haveinsp»cted the Reef, and reported in equally favorable terms as to its gold-bearing capabilities. The Prospectors, with their primitive machinery, have realised from jive to six ounces to the ton ; payable gold having been obtained throughout'the reef, casings, and underlay. His Honor the Superintendent having forwarded to Auckland his recommendation that the Lease should be granted, a Public Meeting of Shareholders will be convened so soon as 200 Shares have been applied for. The Prospectors and Promoters agree to accept the sum of £BSO as compensation for the discovery of the Reef, and the Sale and Transfer of the Lease; such amount to be paid either in Cash or Shares, as may be arranged with the Permanent Committee. Forms of application for Shares, copies of the Surveyor's Report and other information can be obtained from the Brokers, or from the undersigned. C. E. HAUGHTON, Acting Secretary. Arrow Town, August Bth, 1864. The names of the Provisional Committee will be published in a few days. 522 Gold. Gold.
