It is understood that the Victorian Government is willing to allow noncontribnting colonies t.o share in the benefits of the reduction of the press rate to Australia to 2s 8d per word, which will probably come into force on Ist July next.
(Received May 13,10.20 p.m.) Sydney, May 13. In (he Legislative Assembly to-day the contract for the San Francisco Mail Service came up for consideration. The motion that the contract entered into be approved was adjourned until Tuesday next.
Mr Clarke has given notice of his intention to move a vote of censure upon Mr Dibbs for expendiug the stun of £6OO in publishing the "Australian Portrait Gallery." Sailed, the steamship Tarawera, for Auckland, this afternoon.
