The following is the result of the racing for the Sydney Gold Cup at the Australian Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting to-day. The weather was fine, and the attendance large. Sydney Gold Cup.—Two miles. Cerise and Blue ... ... 1 Silver Mine ... ... 2 Britisher... ... ... 3 Twenty-five horses faced the starter for the big event, Nelson being a decided favourite in the betting at the post. The field got well away to a fairly good start. A great race ensued. Cerise and Blue, however, showed to the front at the distance post, and came home gamely a length in advance of the field. Nelson was ninth. Time, 3mins. 33|secs., the fastest on record for the Cup, being quarter of a second shorter than when Da-ebin won in 1883. (Received April 29, 1 p.m.) London, April 28.
