THE REPORTED DEATH OF M. OLIVIER PAIN.

The reported death from fever of M. Olivier Pain, ex-Comraunist and supposed Russian spy, has been the subject of great comment in Paris journals. The Infcransigeant publishes a statement from M. Rochefort, who declares that he has learned from a friend now on his way from Egypt that M. Olivier Pain was assassinated. M. Rochefort proceeds to express his belief that the deed was committed at the instigation of an English colonel, and further asserts that M. Pain had left Debbes,

and was not murdered in the Soudan, but in Egypt, M, Rochefort demands that the English should d' liver up the body of M. Pain, in order that it may be ascertained if he died of fever or from wounds. The Figaro states that M. Pain was shot by Arabs, who, it adds, “ were unaware of the counter orders given by the English,”
