THE FUNNIEST SHOW ON EARTH.

Professor and Mrs Baldwin arrived in Kumara from Stafford this morning, and will appear at the Theatre Royal to-night. As showing the Professor’s ability to amuse an audience, wo may mention that last night by some accident the coach brought most of the Professor’s apparatus on to Kumara, instead of leaving it at Stafford, and it was too late to get it back in time for the evening’s performance. The Professor went to a local store, bought a small coil of rope and a few shillings’ worth of other articles, and went on with the performance, and for nearly three hours kept the audience in roars of laughter, and gave an entertainment that was pronounced by all present to be the best ever given in Stafford. To-night the performance at the Theatre Royal, Kumara, will include all of the celebrated tests that have recently created such a sensation in Great Britain, such as being blindfolded and thou Ending a pin that is hidden anywhere by the Committee. Mrs Baldwin will also give her weird

clairvoyant answering of questions, telling the past, present, and future; all this, besides the funniest and best of the Professor’s own bundle of mirth. As the people of Kumara seldom have an opportunity of seeing such an entertainment, we expect to see a packed house to-night. Our Hokitika morning contemporary says of it :—“ The whole entertainment from start to finish is full of fun and laughter, and the performance as a whole is exceptionally good, and we can cordially recommend it to the good graces of our neighbours.”
