[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. ENGLISHMEN V. COMBINED AUSTRALIANS. December 31, 3 p.m.) Melbourne, December 31. A cricket match between the Englishmen and a combined Australianteam is to be commenced here to-mor-row. The combined team will consisit of Bruce, Horan, Jarvis, Jones, Morris, Robertson, Trumble, Marr, Musgrove, Pope, and War rait. (Received January 2, 1.5 a.m.) January 1. The cricket match between the English eleven and the combined Australian team commenced here to-day. The Englishmen went in first, and remained at the wickets all day, and when play ceased had scored 303 for nine wickets. The principal scorers were—Barnes, bowled, 52; Shrews bury, caught, 72 ; Bates, bowled, 35; and Brigga, not out, 65.
