+ [united press association.] Wellington, October 14. At a meeting of Poppeus' creditors to-day, the assignee stated that after Cheymol, who brought the debtor back, had been paid, they thought there would he sufficient in hand to pay 17s 6d in the £. Napier, October l£. A man named Thomas Henry died at Kaikara yesterday, as he was being conveyed to the Waipukurau Hospital to receive medical attendance. The man was found in the Oero Bush in a thoroughly exhausted state. An inquest was held in the afternoon, when the jury returned a verdict of "Death from exposure and starvation, accelerated by drink." Dunedin, October 13. At Kyeburn, Elliot George, two years old, was found in a duck pond, a foot in depth. When the body was taken out the top of his head was dry and he was lying on his back with his hands in the air. The verdict was that there was no evidence to show how he got in the water, and whether he was drowned or died of fright.
