[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. NOTINGHAMSHIRE. HAWKESBURY HANDICAP. (Received August 22, 8 p.m.) London, August 21. The Australian cricketers commenced a match to-day at Nottingham against an eleven representing the county. The following are the names of the Home team .-—Dixon, Atterall, Barns, Flowers, Gunn, Scotton, Selby, Shaw, Sherwin, Shrewsbury, and Wright. The attendance of spectators was large, and the weather during the day was splendid. The visitors went in first, and remained at the wickets all day, scoring 223 runs for eight wickets, before stumps were drawn. The principal scorers were Murdoch, caught, 39 ; and Btackham, bowled, 51. (Received August 22, 10.5 p.m.) Sydney, August 22. Rapid and Hurricane are equal favorites for the Hawkesbury Handicap, to be run to-morrow.
