KUMARA HOSPITAL.

A meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary’s Room, Main street, on Wednesday evening, 31st inst.; present Messrs A. C. Campbell (chair), R. Toms, F. D. Payne, G. Mansfield, and H. Burger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter from Dr. Porter ashing leave of absence for two days was read and received, and the request granted. Mr Campbell reported, on behalf of the House Committee, that they had made arrangements with the Matron and Wardsman whereby the assistance of a Night Wardsman can be dispensed with. The sum of £2 10s was voted to Mr D. Rainbow for his services as a Night Wardsman. A report from the House Committee was adopted, and the extra assistance asked for the Matron, viz., the services of a woman half a day each week, was granted. Other minor arrangements were left to be dealt with by the House Committee, and the Committee then adjourned.
