Sydney, August 23. Two further cases of small-pox in the city are further announced. The sufferers are Margaret Lindsay, residing in Sussex street, and a youth living in a lane off Abercrombie street. A report is current to-day that the Hon. Mr Campbell has made a donation af £IO,OOO towards the endowment of the New Anglican Bishopric. On Chong, a Chinese merchant, at whose house in George street the first outbreak of small-pox occurred, has sent in a bill to the Government for £2OOO for losses sustained through being placed in quarantine. It ia stated that Drs. Clnne and Coffyn also intend, if necessary, to sue Government for damages sustained through their detention in. quarantine. The former gentlemen, it is said, will claim £IO,OOO. Melbourne, August 23. The Victorian Government, in view of the great increase of small-pox in the city of Sydney, is now taking furprecautionary measures against the spread of the disease to this colony. Brisbane, August 22. The detached squadron left here at noon on Saturday last for the Fiji Islands.
