REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.

LATEST ENGLISH NEWS. London, July 26. Notwithstanding the active inquiries that have been made with a view of finding the owners of the infernal machines recently brought from America to Liverpool in the ship Malta, nothing as yet has been learnt either of the shippers or consignees. Investigations are still proceeding both in Ireland and America, which it is hoped will throw some light upon the affair. The American press urges Government to make an exhaustive search into the matter, and to punish the persons concerned. The whole transaction appears to be surrounded in mystery. * LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, July 28. Small-pox is again increasing in the city in spite of the strongest measures that have been adopted by the Board of Health for preventing the spread of contagion. Another case has been reported to day from Wooloomooloo.
