Sydney, July 9. Tiie Assembly passed neaily six millions for the year’s services. The restoration of the Tolls .Bill indicates inauguration of new taxation.
The Wolverine castigated the islanders for the murder of Ingram and other Europeans. A boat chased a war canoe for seven miles and captured it. Some Brooker Island villages were burned and a chief brought to Sydney as a prisoner for trial by the High Commissioner.
Adelaide wheat is active. Orders have been sent to the Cape. For cargoes millers offer 4s lOd.
The Council having rejected the Land Bill, Sir H, Parkea, before the proroga tion, gives the Assembly a chance of dealing with the question. A deadlock is feaml.
Sir 11. Parkes will go to Adelaide for the purpose of negotiating a Customs union with South Australia.
