Yakoob Khan was received with much ceremony at the British camp, Granda mak. A great military demonstration took place, and Yakoob Khan was much impressed by the sight. Melbourne, June 12. The following is the Suez mail summary to May 9:—A destructive £re at St. Petersburgh, Russia, lasted two days. Two churches, 949 houses, and 292 shops, were burnt down. > -It is. feared the extreme measures to "suppress Nihilism will provoke a revolutionary outbreak in Russia. News from Bombay to the 23rd May states, that in consequence of the recent disturbances the police have been supplemented by a military force, consisitng of 800 infantry and 200 cavalry, who are scouring the country. A party of the military and police encountered 'a number of Docoits on 17th who were "completely routed und several killed, lit is believed that the Docoits do not exceed more than a few hundred. The latest intelligence telegraphed to Yall from Bombay, dated May 26, gives the foilowin r articles of the Treaty of Peace with Afghanistan : 1. Peace and friendship between the two nations is declared. 2. The Ameer grants an amnesty to all who held ictercuurse with the British during the war. 3. The relations cf the Ameer with other powers to be conducted under advice of the British Government. 4. A British Officer to reside at Cabul. 5. Indian Government to have power to depute agents. 6. The Ameer guarantees the safety all the British agents at Afghanistan. 7. That telegraphic communication is to be established between Cabul and Calcutta. 8. The restoration to the Ameer of territories occupied by the British expeditionary force, except certain Passes, which are to be treated as districts assigned to India. 9. The surplus revenue derived from I these districts will be paid to the Ameer. 10. The British Government to have complete control over the Native tribes in the Kyber and Merance Passes. 11. An annual subsidy of six lacs of rupees to be paid to the Ameer contingent, upon his observance of the Ti*eaty. 12. A mixed commission to be appointed to settle the question of the boundaries. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Adelaide, June 3. Wheat is quoted a 5s Id. Sydney, June 13.
