Mr S. L Sutherland, Napier, is visiting Hamilton. Mr J. L. Vergette, Napier, is visiting Hamilton. Mr J. Bibby and Mr W. J. Yardley, •vf Ongaonga, have left on a ten-day fishing trip in the Tongariro district, Mrs Fox-Rogera, of Gisborne, who has been visiting Hastings, tetu'rned home this morning. Mr F. G. Young, Auckland, has been selected as the Alliance of Labour nommee for the International Labour Conference at Geneva. Major-General Sir Andrew Russell yesterday visited the 1st Battalion of the Wellington Regiment, which s now in camp at Waipukurau. The Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. G. Webb. who has concluded his tour of the West >. Coast, has Teturned to Wellington. He will Ifiter join the Minister for Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, on his tour in the south. Messrs J. H. Edmundson and R. M. Chadwick and Dr. W. D. Fitzgerald will attend the half-yearly 'conference of the North Island Motor Union at Wellington on February 23 as delegates of the Automobile Association, Hawke's Bay. Mr D. F. Duigan, a New Zealander who was prominently associated with the mining industry in Rhodesia, anf) who is now living in England, arrived at Auckland from Wellington on a holiday v-isit to the Dominion, He is accompanied by his daughter and they are at the Grand Hotel. Mr Duigas is a brother of Colonel J. E. Duigan, of Auckland, Mr W. H. Warren, Christchurch, has been appointed Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Bakers' Association in succession to Mr F. A. Jarett. who resigned. Mr Warren is a native of Wellington and for many years was^in the employ of Dalgety and Co., Ltd. Before that he was attached to the staff of the general manager, New Zealand Railways. Leading-Seaman R. V. Berry, who is to represent the Wellington Division, R.N.Y.R., at the forthcoming Coronation festivities, was presented with a toilet set by Captain Wybrants 01phert^ commanding officer of the Wellington Division at a social eveniug. In making the presentation on behalf of the oflficers and men, Captain 01phert stated that Leading-Seaman Berry had worthily upheld the traditions of the service, and called for 4hree cheers, which were enthusiastically given, Leading-Seaman Berry will leave to-morrow by the Limited express for Auckland, where he is to join H.M.S. Dunedin.
