Maunsell, S.M., in the Police Court at Westport yesterday when sentencing four men to three months’ imprisonment on charges oi receiving seven cases of whisky valued at x. 75 12s. - Two members of the crew of the s.s. Foolta, John Allan and George Thomas McNamara, charged with the theft of the whisky, appeared on remand, and pleaded guilty to charges of receiving the whisky. William Patrick Harrigan and Joseph Granville Cubby, members of the crew of the Kartigi, admitted receiving from a person or persons unknown, 43 and 2z oottles of whisky valued respectively at £3B 14s and £l9 10s. Each of the accused was given three months’ imprisonment. BURNETT'S FACE CASE

Appearing on remand, Allen David Arnesen admitted breaking and entering the residence of Mrs F. Morrison at Burnett’s Face, and stealing money valued at 7s„ a torch valued at 7s 6d, war medals valued at 7s 6d and a file and ammunition valued at £4. He also admitted the theft of a starter s shotgun from Victoria Square. After it had been explained to the Magistrate that accused had been previously in' a mental institution, Mi Maunsell ordered that Arnesen bo detained for three months, and placed under the Prisons Board.
