RUGBY FOOTBALL WEST COAST RUGBY UNION

Mr F. W. Baillie presided over the weekly meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union. Also present were Messrs H Clifford, J. Jackson, E. W. Todd, B. Watkin, G. W. Ormandy, E. W. Shannon, G. Webster, A. R. King, A Agnew, M. R. Bunt, A. M. Jamieson and O. Scott (secretary). Mr Agnew submitted a report on the Seddon Shield match last Saturday and he was thanked for his servlces. x , xA motion of congratulation was passed to the Buller Rugby Union on its success and the Union was thanked for the hospitality extended to the visiting team. Team managers were appointed as follows: Reef ton, Messrs Ormandy, Todd and Abelson; Hokitika, Messrs Garth, Beck and Fitzgerald; Greymouth, Messrs Longstaff, Watkin, Jackson and Rea.

A motion of congratulation was passed to Mr E. G. Walker on his selection in the South Island team. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY

Senior (McLean Shield): Star v. Excelsior, at Hokitika. Junior: .Albion (Christchurch) 3rd. Grade v. Blaketown Juniors, Park 1, 3 p.m. (M. R. Bunt); Celtic v. New Brighton, at Christchurch. Third Grade: Albion (Christchurch) 4th Grade A v. Third Grade A Reps., Park 2, 3 p.m. (A. King); Albion (Christchurch) 4th. Grade B v. Third Grade B Reps, Park 1, 1.30 (B. Thorburn).

Fifth and Sixth grade teams travel to Reefton leaving Greymouth Railway Station at 7.55 a.m. Teams to assemble at 7.45 a.m. Seventh and Eighth Grade teams travel to Hokitika, leaving Cobden at 8.45 a.m. and Post Office at 9 a.m. THIRD GRADE REP. TEAMS. Third grade rugby representative teams for Saturday next are:— A. team to play Albion.— Stanton, Costelloe, McManus, Hay, De Goldi, Colville, Williams, Barron, Curtis, Paul, Abelson, Huffam, Sullivan, Guerin, Wilson.
